Forest Meadows is the only gated community in the Ebbetts Pass corridor. It is located approximately 8 miles below Arnold at an elevation of about 3,000 feet, and is considered to be right at the snow line, receiving only occasional snowfalls. The homes in Forest Meadows consist mainly of clean, full-time style residences, some of which are located on the golf course and some with spectacular views of the Stanislaus River canyon. The homeowners’ association is very active and the dues are $1,560 per year. The dues provide access to swimming pool, tennis and basketball courts, recreation hall, barbecue and picnic areas, and also cover security, road repairs and snow removal. The community is built around a terrific 9-hole, Robert Trent Jones, Jr. golf course, which winds it way through the trees, providing a scenic and enjoyable golf experience for both the beginner and expert player alike. The course, like the comfortable Restaurant and Lounge, are open to the public. Forest Meadows is an active, community-oriented subdivision with lots of walking trails and recreational opportunities for its residents. Water is obtained through Calaveras County Water District and the homes here are on a sewer system.
