White Pines

The little community of White Pines is a proud one, as evidenced by their sign that states “White Pines is not Arnold!” Most of the homes here were built many years ago and represent one of the first Arnold communities. Some may even date back to the old logging days when the town consisted of only a few shops and a post office. White Pines is home to a beautiful public lake which has been recently improved to include beach areas, picnic areas and a play area for kids. Independence Hall, the meeting area for many of Arnold’s community activities, is also located here as is Hazel Fischer School, the elementary school for local children. On the opposite side of the lake is where the newly built Logging Museum is located, which has become a reality thanks to the combined efforts of many dedicated local residents. White Pines Community Park is spread among the trees along the shore of White Pines Lake and has picnic tables, BBQ pits, walking paths, playground for the kids and a softball field! The homes in this area are on sewer and they obtain their water from Calaveras County Water District.
