The Snowshoe Springs community is a charming area at about the 5000′ elevation. Many of the homes have been there for years and are perfect examples of the quintessential “cabin in the woods” type of mountain getaway. Some homeowners have done renovations and updating, making their cabins quite suitable for today’s vacation and weekend homes. The annual dues of $868 include water charges, a picnic area and the most beautiful, secluded mountain lake, tucked in among the trees. You’ll get about twice the amount of snow as in Arnold, but you will be that much closer to the ski area. The main road into Snowshoe Springs, Boards Crossing Road, can be followed down to the Stanislaus River, just a short drive away. All homes in this area are on individual septic systems.
